Every year 8 million tons of man-made plastic enters our oceans every day with trash gathering in 5 ocean patches, the largest between Hawaii and California. This trash can cause animals such as seabirds, turtles and fish to mistake floating plastic for food which can injure or block their digestive systems. In addition to this, other debris such as old fishing nets and plastic rings to hold cans together can prevent animals from swimming, diving or even in some cases kill them. Plastic trash smaller than 5mm is also a great threat as it adsorbs toxic chemicals such as PCBs and DDT, which can weaken their immune systems and can cause cancers.
With this in mind, we try to make sure we use the least amount of plastic possible in all of our wooden accessories. All of our products are also made from natural materials such as leather, wood and Bamboo.
